Can you explain me whats the difference between a Landing page and the Top content. Does both are similar,if so why and if not why so? can you please help me in solving this confusion.

The landing page is a simple design that completely focused on offering a solution on what the user came there for. It usually doesn't have a lot of navigation or additional links that aren't related to the 1-3 goals you send people there for.

The landing page is usually a place to send PAID advertising and focuses the user to complete conversion. By keeping the page very simple you can have it load fast and consistent with your advertising. This helps give you a better Google Quality Score, which will lower your PPC advertsing costs and increase your spot in paid advertising.

Top content pages are usually managed by a Content Management System and have a lot of opportunity to BOUNCE - people leave or get confused and exit your site. The targeted landing page helps capitalize better off your marketing campaigns.

Hi. I have just finished a blog through Harvey Segal new 2010 Catalog Membership. I wanted to know how to create a landing page and use it as my "sticky" for my blog posts. Is a landing page the same as a capture page where you want to "capture" the name and email address of the visitor as opposed to a splash page where you ask the viewer to click through to the next page?

The landing page serves as place to send your PAID traffic. Sometimes its better to capture email address right away and sometimes it better to get them to the next page right away. Its different in many cases for different goals. TEST to see what works for you.

Would appreciate your insight on my landing page: www.cashurwheels.com - It is an online marketplace that connects advertisers with vehicle owners willing to display ads on their owbn vehicle. The website essentially speak to 3 stakeholder at the same time and I believe it is not getting the point across for either of the users groups at this point. All pointers are greatly appreciated.

It's not specifically a 'landing page' in the sense that the user isn't required to sign up until he actually creates a server. The conversion rate is not as high as I'd like given that the conversion is a free download. And very few are doing anything else on the site - browsing products or articles.

The site's just launched, and it's only being fed by adwords and digg-type sites now, but I feel there is a lot of work I need to do on this landing page before I want to spend larger dollars on bigger ad campaigns.
