The most important page within the conversion funnel is the Targeted Landing Page. Here is a wireframe that I created to demonstrate some of the best practices that I have learn from testing hundreds of landing pages. First, some basic information about Landing Page Design….
The landing page will influence the rest of your site experience for each visitor, so it needs to be:
- Specifically Related to the Keywords that they came from
- Load Quickly
- Clear headline with “scannable” copy, teasing an offer, discounts or incentives
- Introduce Your Trustworthy Company
- Help Visitors Understand Your Business within a few seconds
- 90% of the page above the average monitor screen fold, the red horizontal line set is 565 pixels high
- Visitors look at photography first, so the placing the picture on the right
- This always the interactive area to stay within the active window on the left side of the page
- Encourage adding some interactive HTML which has been proven to decrease your bounce rates
- Since the main objective of this page is to get people to the page, the focus point is really the button
